Not all models require a chimney. Our flueless and vent-free gas fireplace range including the Horizon Flueless and Pureview WallArt require no chimney. Wood-burning and closed combustion models are installed with appropriate flue and ventilation systems.

What wood should I use in a closed combustion fireplace?

Accepted Answer

Use dry, seasoned hardwood such as blue gum, oak, wattle, or rooikrans. Avoid wet wood, treated timber, or softwoods as they reduce efficiency and increase creosote buildup. A closed combustion fireplace uses approximately 2-3 kg of wood per hour.
